Confusion

I'm reading a book about a narcoleptic private investigator and having a hard time staying awake.

Now I can't decide whether the book is so good I'm identifying with the main character, or if it's just a yawner.

    Is it by Lawrence Block? When I worked in East London I had a narcoleptic client who was a big Lawrence Block fan, which was a quirky coincidence.

    Nope, it's not Block, though I'm not going to identify the writer. I have to review the book and I'm still forming an opinion.
